This event brings the Art Deco era to life, while celebrating Napier's unique architecture & community. The city gleams with classic cars and aircraft of the Deco era, people dress in Deco style bringing glamour and elegance to this unique festival.

Art Deco Weekend, Napier Rebuilding the city after the earthquake of 1931 lead to Napier becoming an 'art deco city' with one of the most concentrated arrays of Art Deco & Spanish Mission buildings in the world. Now the Art Deco Trust stages it's annual Art Deco Festival in celebration of the Art Deco era & style. The Art Deco Weekend Summer Festival includes over 100 events, many of which are free to attend. Enjoy wining, dining, jazz, dancing, film, theatre, house tours, vintage cars, plane rides, and much, much more. Weekend highlights include the Friday evening air show over the waterfront & Big Sounds Tonight concert at the Sound Shell stage. Saturday draws huge crowds in their 1930s clothing, attending a variety of events including the street party & vintage parade, the incredible Costumes & Coiffure fashion competition & the Gatsby Picnic on the lawns of Marine Parade. Themed dinners & dances in venues all over the city & CBD add to the vibrant atmosphere experienced throughout the weekend. The Festival also features Art Deco walks and guided tours.
