A Musical Celebration
Queenstown swings into spring each October with a 5 day live music celebration. The Queenstown Jazz Festival features a sensational line up of bands and performers from both New Zealand and overseas with a programme of cool blues, big band swing, funky R&B, vibrant Latin sounds, Dixie bands and jazz-influenced dance music.

Festival Programme
The Festival offers something for everyone. Themed events, free and ticketed concerts showcasing local, national and international headline acts. Plus loads of free or low cost gigs across more than 20 different venues in the town.

Free workshops from leading jazz exponents and master classes from top international tutors to inspire and progress musicians of all ages and experience levels.

The Competition Programme encourages artistic endeavour and highlights the skills of musicians through the Jumpstart Jazz national youth competition, emerging talent competition and the JazzFest Trust awards.

Experience Queenstown
Queenstown is New Zealand's major tourist destination nestled at the base of The Remarkable mountains on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, with majestic lakes, crystal clear air and just so much to do. From bungy jumping to wine trails, jet boating to tramping, dining out to skiing, the tricky part is extending your stay to try and fit everything in. There's more than 160 licensed bars and cafes in downtown Queenstown - sophisticated wine bars, live jazz and top DJ's.

Accommodation and Transport
Air New Zealand, JetStar and Pacific Blue carry international and domestic passengers into Queenstown. There are daily bus services or hire a car and drive yourself. Accommodation is available in all the great motels and hotels in the area but will be at a premium during this event, so early booking is highly recommended. Motorhomes & campervans are another popular option.
